What is Allianz Saúde 55 Mais?
Allianz Saúde 55 Mais (Allianz 55 Plus) is one of seven modules of the Allianz Saúde health insurance from Allianz Portugal. It is an insurance contract with an insurer supervised by the Portuguese insurance authority ASF. You can take out the module from age 55, and there is no age limit for staying covered.
Unlike a policy that reimburses costs, the module works mainly through the Allianz network: for hospital stays, surgery, outpatient care and dental treatment you pay the price agreed with Allianz, which is lower than the provider’s list price. In addition, you receive a daily hospital allowance of €25 and Senior Assistance (Assistência Sénior).
You need to live in Portugal and have a Portuguese tax number (NIF). Allianz decides on acceptance after a health questionnaire, and illnesses that existed before the policy starts are excluded. The premium depends on your age and health. We will prepare a free quote for you.

Allianz Saúde 55 Mais is particularly suited to expats over 65 who can no longer take out an Allianz policy with cost reimbursement (Base, Standard, Mais and Extra accept new customers up to 65, Total up to 60):
- Allianz Saúde 55 Mais network at agreed prices: prices for consultations and treatments are agreed between Allianz and its partners and are lower than list prices.
- Daily hospital allowance of €25 for inpatient stays, after a waiting period of 90 to 365 days depending on the type of stay.
- Senior Assistance (Assistência Sénior) with various support services as set out in the policy conditions.
- No age limit for staying covered: once you join at 55 or over, you can stay insured without an age limit. This also applies to your spouse or partner if they are also 55 or over.
- No capital limits per year and insured person: you can use the network as often as you need.
